Congratulations on choosing true ownership. You’ve taken the most important step in securing your cryptocurrency by selecting a Trezor hardware wallet. This guide will help you unbox, connect, and set up your device quickly and securely. Let's get started.
Your new Trezor hardware wallet (Model T or Model One)
The USB cable provided in the box
A computer or laptop and an internet connection
Important: Please download and install Trezor Bridge (for desktop) or ensure you have the Trezor Suite mobile app ready. This software allows your computer to communicate securely with your device.
Download Trezor Bridge
Plug your Trezor into your computer using the supplied USB cable.
Your device will power on. You should see the Trezor logo on the screen.
You will be guided through the process via the official Trezor web interface or desktop app.
Visit Trezor.io/Start: Your browser will automatically direct you to the setup page.
Install Firmware: The first time you connect, you will need to install the latest firmware. This ensures your device has the most up-to-date security features.
Your recovery seed is the master key to your cryptocurrency. It is a unique list of words that can restore access to your funds if your Trezor is ever lost or damaged.
Your Trezor device will generate a random recovery seed phrase (12, 18, or 24 words).
Write each word down in the exact order on your included recovery seed card.
Critical Security Advice:
NEVER digitize your seed. Do not type it on a computer, take a photo, or store it in the cloud.
Write it by hand only on the provided card.
Store it in a safe, secure, and private place. Anyone with your seed has access to your funds.
Your Trezor will then ask you to confirm the seed by selecting the words in the correct order. This ensures you have written it down correctly.
To protect your device from physical access, you will set up a PIN code.
The PIN grid will appear on your computer screen, and you will confirm the numbers on your Trezor's display. This innovative method prevents keyloggers from stealing your PIN.
Once your device is initialized, you can:
Access the Trezor Suite interface to manage your crypto.
Receive funds: Generate your first receiving address to start depositing cryptocurrency.
Explore features: Discover the built-in Exchange, learn about Coinjoin for privacy, and stake supported assets.
